At 74 years old, Fred Zeidman said he’s done doing things he doesn’t want to do. Fortunately for many of the companies he has run throughout his career, what he wants to do is fix up companies that have found themselves in a tight spot.

Zeidman, who lives in Houston, is chairman of the Gordian Group, an investment bank that specializes in complex and distress financial advisory work. He’s also worked on several high profile political campaigns, including both of President George W. Bush’s presidential campaigns. He was also, at the behest of then-Governor Bush, responsible for turning around the financial situation at Texas Southern University in the mid-90’s.
